Altnostalgia publishes recovered broadcast fragments from histories that diverged from ours: news segments, tickers, addresses. Each tape is dated twice: once for when it aired, once for when it was recovered. The archive is organized by divergence: the moment a timeline split from the one you're living in.
These are not better worlds. Every timeline here is better in the ways you'd notice and worse in the ways you wouldn't. The tapes don't editorialize, and neither does the archive. What was recovered is presented as it aired; the dissonance is left standing.

NOW, PLAINLY
Altnostalgia is a work of alternate-history fiction. The broadcasts in this archive depict events that did not occur, from timelines that did not happen.
On-air figures — anchors, correspondents, officials — are synthetic performers created with artificial intelligence. They are not real people, and their statements were never made. Where real archival footage appears, it appears only as silent historical material; no real person is depicted saying or doing anything they did not say or do.
Where U.S. Department of War visual information appears, its appearance does not imply or constitute DoW endorsement.
ARN, its programs, and its on-air identity are inventions of this project. They depict no real network and have no affiliation with any broadcaster.
Every video is labeled as synthetic media on the platform where it is hosted, and provenance metadata is left intact in every render.
